Summer Transfers

So far this summer there has already been a lot of action in the transfer window across the board.

Most notably both Manchester clubs have made additions to there squads, with more still rumoured.

Barcelona have invested in several younger players to build for the future including Andre Gomes from Valencia.

Whilst several players have returned to their former clubs including Morata to Real Madrid and Gotze to Dortmund.

A number of clubs have made astute signings that could go a long way to improving their teams for the next season such as West Ham.

Approximately £481 million has been spent in the Premier League already following the newly agreed TV deals with BT Sport and Sky Sports.

This is expected to increase somewhat, however many clubs have already done their business early doors.

What to expect from the rest of the window?

I’d expect the deal to go through for Paul Pogba’s move to Manchester United within the next few days, if not in the next couple of days it will not happen.

Manchester United will then turn their attention to PSG’s Matuidi.

Manchester City will continue to add strength in depth to their squad with Leroy Sane and John Jones top of their list, both players will cost around £94 million combined.

Arsenal may well panic buy before the end of the window, or Wenger will come under strong criticism having missed out on every high profile player that the club have been linked with. Will we see Mahrez move to the Emirates? I doubt it.

Leicester should manage to keep hold of the rest of their star performers, whilst Liverpool will be looking to get rid of their ‘dead wood’ within the squad.

Elsewhere I don’t really see too many big money moves after the Manchester clubs have done their deals. Real Madrid and Barcelona seem content with their squads having strengthened earlier this summer. Whilst PSG are still on the lookout to fill Ibrahimovic’s slot in the side.
