PSG vs Chelsea
PSG host Chelsea in the first leg of their tie tonight, and this may well help Chelsea in their pursuit of Champions League football for next season.
PSG are in superb form this season, racing away with the French League 1 title it seems, the pressure will move towards the Champions League having made steady progress in the past few years.
Having knocked Chelsea out at this stage last season, arguably against a much stronger Chelsea team (form wise), PSG will be seeking a repeat of that performance this time around.
PSG strengthened again in the summer and do look quite a threat on the counter attack. Chelsea, as everybody knows are trying to resurrect their season with success in a cup competition. Tonight I am sure will be a tight affair, with PSG maybe taking a narrow lead to Stamford Bridge.
Prediction: PSG 2-0 Chelsea.
Roma vs Real Madrid
Real Madrid as ever look like a strong outfit, having improved since the departure of Rafa Benitez you wouldn’t put it past them to win the competition this season. Without Bale for this one, Madrid should still be too strong for their Italian opponents.
Zidane has seemingly made an impact with the payers since becoming head coach, with players like Ronaldo seeing a welcome return to form in what is the most important part of the season.
Prediction: Roma 0-3 Real Madrid
Benfica vs Zenit
Benfica is a difficult place to go for any team, and Zenit will find this out tonight. Benfica will be looking to get a good head start in this one as the return leg in Russia will be just as difficult for the away side.
Prediction: Benfica 2-1 Zenit
Gent vs Wolfsburg
Gent have done well to progress to this stage, but for me Wolfsburg will be too strong having come out of their group ahead of Manchester United.
Prediction: Gent 1-3 Wolfsburg
